Finally got this one published after tinkering with it for far too long. Basically what we have here is a colorful easter scene, complete with blowing grass, butterflies, eggs, and more. It turned out really beautifully and I'm extremely proud of the result, especially considering the fairly meager hardware we've got it running on.
On a technical level we spent a ton of time experimenting with the grass, and went through a few different iterations as far as rendering it goes. Ultimately we ended up with something like twelve thousand individual grass blades all animating and being influenced by the wind. A bit overkill but I really like how the effect turned out. :)
There's a variety of settings to control number of eggs, which basket you want, how fast the wind moves, how many butterflies there are, etc. In addition, the 99 cent version gains twice as many egg and butterfly variations.I think this is one of the prettiest projects we have on the market so far and am really excited to hear what people think. This is the first of your wallpapers that has given me a problem on my Motorola Droid X (and I have most of them!). When I first select the wallpaper, it locks my Droid up to the point where I have to battery pull. After the battery pull, the wallpaper is there at the default settings. But if I try to go into the settings, it then locks up completely again. Any thoughts?

That's really strange, especially considering the settings screen doesn't do any OpenGL stuff. Are you sure it downloaded cleanly?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Droid X to test this on, but have tried it on a Droid 2 and didn't have any problems...
Very impressive! An excellent addition to your app catalog. I personally prefer this type with subtle interactivity (i.e. eggs moving with touch, feed fish in aquarium, summon lightning) as opposed to Dynamic Paint, which essentially requires that I go to a completely vacant homescreen tile to enjoy it. I'll look forward to whatever you have next in the pipeline. Keep the good stuff coming!
